Hola, me llamo Gloria Rivera.
I'm a native Spanish speaker, since I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. I've been 3 years in the States and I've been tutoring Spanish for 2 1/2 of those years.
As I mentioned, I grew up in Peru and I had my entire education there. I have a medical degree and I'm currently studying for the medical boards.
I also have a Certificate of Translation & Interpretation English/Spanish from UCSD Extension and I'm going to start a teaching position there this Fall. I used to tutor English back home, and I loved Spanish grammar. That is why I decided to start tutoring Spanish here. Also, I love teaching Spanish because it gives me the chance to help people communicate with others and learn from different cultures. I look forward to meeting with you soon.

HOLA! My name is Joe Dasilva, and I’m originally from Venezuela, and with a very extensive background: My father was born in Venezuela as well, from Portuguese/Spanish family. My mom is from Uruguay, from Brazilian/Italian family. You can get the picture of the complexity of languages I was formed in, having this mix.
Currently I’m teaching Spanish in two different institutes. In my position as Spanish Instructor, I have performed my skills as I have enjoyed teaching my native language to several groups and private classes as well, with a very wide diversity of ages, nationalities and NEEDS.
While Working in Universidad Xochicalco in Tijuana, Mexico, I have improved my skills as an Instructor at a University Level, having teenagers to attend to my classes.
Also in Venezuela, I started developing my skills as a Professor at Universidad de Guayana, where I have several classes In some summer camps, I taught ESL to kids in a Private academy. This definitely has awakened my desire of keep teaching, as I discovered a real vocation in me within the classrooms.
The fact that I have lived in several Countries in Latin America, and visit some others, makes me a good match with your needs, since you won’t only have the experience of a regular Spanish instructor, but also, the possibility of learning a very complex language, from a person who knows the small differences of culture, dialects and vocabulary in Latin America.
Whether you are required to learn technical vocabulary, working in a Spanish environment, having a trip to a Latin-American country or Spain, want to communicate in better basis with your new family or friends, or just for the fun of learning a new language, I will be able to accommodate my skills, to your needs. Hope to hear from you soon. Nos vemos pronto!
