Hello! My name is Garbine though everybody calls me Gabi. I
was born in Pamplona, a small city located in the north of Spain. I moved to
San Diego last summer to finish my university
studies. I am currently finishing my bachelor in Journalism and History.
I have been teaching Spanish, English and university access test preparation
for the last five years. I also have worked for several Spanish local newspapers and online magazines.
I like to make my conversation classes dynamic bringing up
interesting topics to talk about. Also, I try to teach grammar and vocabulary
in an entertaining way with full of activities that will make you have a good
time while you are learning a new language.

I was born in Tijuana, Mexico. I studied in Mexico up to College;
I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from CETYS in Tijuana. Also,
I studied three years of poetry in the Autonomus University of
Baja California (UABC). I have published poetry in Mexico and San Diego.
I arrived in San Diego in 2000 and I enrolled in San Diego State
University in a Master of Arts in Latin American Literature, in
the Spanish and Portuguese Department, in 2003, I was a member of
the writer's workshop in SDSU. As a writer I was invited to two
important events: The International Book Fair in Tijuana 2005 and
the International Colloquium of the Border in SDSU in 2010.I have
lived in Tijuana, Guadalajara, and travel all over Mexico. Also I have
traveled to Spain and South America to have a deeper understanding of
the Hispanic Culture.In the present, I am a Spanish Teacher at
Palomar College, and at a Private Elementary School in San Diego. I
tutor successful business people, students and children. I have been a
tutor for 4 years and I have experience tutoring all levels, and all
ages. What I like the most, is to teach Spanish, help those who want to
learn the language in this times where Spanish is becoming necessary in our globalized world.

the International House of Barcelona. She also gets a certification by
the University of Barcelona. After spending several years with different
companies and through her numerous experiences of tutoring students,
she has developed her ability to transmit elements of the Hispanic
culture, using the Communicative Method with a task based focus and
under the guidelines of The Common European Framework of Reference for
Languages (CEFR). Her classes, tutoring, and workshops are focused on
developing the student's conversational skills without losing attention
to reading, writing, listening, grammar, and vocabulary acquisition.
